“A” for Attention

Have I got yours? Do you have control of where yours is? How quickly can you regain it after you have it wander?

By asking yourself “Where is my attention focused?” you are also asking, “Where is my consciousness?”

The concept of “Consciousness” in the spiritual community, for me at least, for many years seemed such an obscure concept. Add to that “Group Consciousness” and I was even more oblivious to what it was referring to.

It was not until the early hours of the morning that the connection to the word “Attention” clicked in a new thought. (KISS) Keep it Simple Stupid….. Using the word attention is easier to wrap my mind around than consciousness. Lol…… people have been seeking attention, being told to pay attention, focus your attention, stand at attention, etc., etc., throughout time. It is nothing we haven’t heard before.

Now, when the term consciousness appears, I will see how well the term attention fits the situation just as well.

Being conscious = Knowing where my attention is focused.

Conscious = Being able to recognize I have the ability to focus where my attention can reside.

Unconscious = Not having an ability to sense where your attention is or can reside..

Sub-Conscious = Having my attention focus on something below physical areas, perhaps working on my behalf in the background.

Give these thoughts a little  A …….. “Attention” today.

Tomorrow you may have a whole different outlook and more information added as well.

  1. Thank you for this. It is an excellent reminder to practice more on where my consciousness/attention is and where I want it to be. It’s been a challenge lately.

  2. Thank you for this post Steve. I think we all need to be reminded from time to time, to pay Attention, to what our focus in on. The more we focus on the negative, the more we draw into ourselves, and vice versa. It’s a daily process, and the more we pay attention to where our focus it, the easier it will become, to stay focused in a direction that will be beneficial to both body/mind/soul.
    Many blessings along your journey.
