46: Spirituality in Partnership with Horses with Susan Part 1

In this episode, we dive deep into Susan’s incredible journey with horses that spans decades. 
As a child, she grew up sitting under the horses in the field next to her house in the San Francisco Bay Area. She attended College at the University of California, Davis, graduating with a B.S. in Genetics. She ended up closing her horse sales and training business in Southern California and headed to South Africa. The answers she found led her to Jaipur, India in 2011. Very quickly, an opportunity arose to rent a small, pink, cement room down the street from the Ashram. Several years later, her teacher at the Ashram said she was ready to return. Surprised, she headed back to the horse world. Years of training and teaching continued to unfold in different places. In 2021, a big change arrived in Sue’s life when the opportunity arose to purchase a beautiful 88-acre farm with an indoor arena, 10 stall barn, a new outdoor arena and new complete fencing for 4 rotational pastures. What a dream come true to have a place to live with the horses!
From competitive trail riding with NATRC (30, 60, 90 miles) to winning the President’s Cup, her path has been nothing short of extraordinary. Susan’s story takes us from dressage to South Africa, and then to a life-changing experience at an Ashram in India, guided by the wisdom of Poojya Gurudev.
