Russell’s background covers concurrent paths in the technical and creative arts. This includes application engineering contracting for civilian and government projects including advanced multi-phased array radar systems. He then pursued commercial interiors and ergonomics integrating technology with human factors to create healthy work environments. He has two patents relating to ergonomic housings for portable computers and two patents pending for adjustable tension floss holders.

He continued freelance writing and illustration with published works ranging from illustrated technical science articles to editorials on topics including sustainable technology.

His work at Syndex pioneered  Synchrographics, a visual method to illustrate fundamental scientific concepts relating to structure of number and fundamental wave structure of synchronicity. He was part of a research team including Robert Marshall and Iona Miller and was instrumental in the technical writing, research  and graphic illustration for the Syndex web sites. https://syndex.weebly.com/

He was part of the ISUS (International society of Unified Science) research team from 1990-1996 where he developed geometric models of the reciprocal system of Theories with the late Bruce Peret and held the position of assistant editor of the Reciprocity journal. His early work on developing a geometric description of Larson’s reciprocal system physics was first published here. Later articles include Academia: https://www.academia.edu/97533465/A_New_Look_at_Space_Time_Towards_a_Unified_Quantum_Geometry.

He continued a series of collaborations in visual mathematics with Barbara Hero Founder/Director at the International Lambdoma Research Institute including studies of the Lamdoma matrix. .

This followed with studies in visual calculus with Mamikan Mnatsakanian, an Armenian astrophysicist who turned to education  to teach his visual calculus at UC Davis, the California Institute of Technology and alternative middle and high schools.

His ongoing pursuits cover integrated applications in science and music including harmonic geometry, sound therapy and music composition.

He has given presentations on his research projects at several forums including the foundation for New directions, The Synergetics Collaborative and the International Society of Unified Science, ISUS.
